Ottawa Craft Beer Run 2015

The Ottawa Craft Beer Run this year is a 5K fun run/walk in Ottawa. Organizers partnered with the Ottawa Craft Beer Festival, a festival showcasing beer and cider from 40 different craft breweries, so all participants receive a two-day pass to the festival for Saturday, August 29th and Sunday, August 30th (a $40 value). Participants will also receive a celebratory beer at the end of the run; Beau’s Lug-Tread Lagered Ale.

The cost of the run is $50 (includes your run/walk registration, your celebratory beer and your OCBF two-day pass). Organizers are expecting 500 participants. The event will be on Saturday August 29th, 2015.

The route starts at the Aberdeen Pavilion (Lansdowne), goes along the Rideau Canal and loops back. There are three waves to choose from: 10:30 AM, 11:15 AM and 11:30 AM (participants choose their start time when registering). There will be free yoga offered; “Yoga on Tap with the Happy Yogi”(Ashley Eagan) before and after each wave. The anticipated finish time for this event is 1:00 PM.

Proceeds from this event go to Motivate Canada, specifically towards ACTIVATE Ottawa programs. Starting with a youth summit, ACTIVATE Ottawa will strengthen the capacity of schools, community organizations, and sport groups across the city of Ottawa to provide a greater number and a higher quality of sport and recreation programs to youth by increasing the knowledge, improving the skills, and establishing connections between volunteer youth leaders and community groups.
