Who is Motivate Canada?

Motivate Canada is a national charitable organization that specializes in improving the lives of young people by fostering community engagement, entrepreneurship, social inclusion and leadership among youth. Their programs empower young people to create positive change through sport and physical activity to make their communities healthy, vibrant, engaged and inclusive.

Motivate Canada’s approach to youth-driven development taps into the natural optimism, energy, curiosity, and adventurous spirit that young people have in abundance. Using the power of sport, physical activity and positive peer role models, Motivate Canada’s four core programs—ESTEEM Team, ACTIVATE, GEN7 and Clean Air Champions—give young people the tools, training and confidence to make a difference in their lives and communities on their own terms.

What will the funds raised from the Ottawa Craft Beer Run be used for?

Funds generated from the Ottawa Craft Beer Run will go directly towards supporting leadership and skills training for local Ottawa youth through Motivate Canada’s ACTIVATE Ottawa initiative. By  supporting the ACTIVATE program, you are not only ensuring that a young person will gain the confidence, skills, and knowledge to shape their future, but you are also affecting the well-being of an entire community. Starting with a youth summit, ACTIVATE Ottawa will strengthen the capacity of schools, community organizations, and sport groups across the city of Ottawa to provide a greater number and a higher quality of sport and recreation programs to youth by increasing the knowledge, improving the skills, and establishing connections between volunteer youth leaders and community groups.
