Upcoming Construction Activities at Lansdowne Park

Work continues to finalize the public areas at Lansdowne. Late next week, the contractor will be testing the lights on the art installation along the top of the berm at the east end of the stadium (previously referred to as ‘the screen’). The testing will take a couple of hours to complete, and will be conducted after dark. The lights will be noticeable, but should not be disruptive for nearby residents.

Also in the urban park, new lights will be installed around the skating rink and tested in the next few weeks. The ice-making equipment will also be set up and tested at the end of September or early October.

This may generate some noise initially as the machinery is set up. A short closure of the skateboarding area at the children’s play area may be needed this month in order to install a guard railing to separate the play structure from the skateboard ramps. Generally, the park will continue to be open from 8a.m. to 8p.m. over the next month.

In the retail area, work is focused on finishing the building interiors and the landscaping along Bank Street.

Early next week, the contractor will temporarily close Holmwood between Bank and Adelaide in order to install a fire hydrant. Police will be on-site to assist with traffic management, and any affected residents will receive a notice from the contractor.

Minto anticipates that some of the new residents of the condominium tower at the corner of Bank and Holmwood will begin to move into the building late in September. There may be additional traffic due to moving trucks and residents accessing the parking garage.
