Lansdowne Park Construction Update – Week of May 25, 2014

On Saturday, the contractor will be increasing the height of the tower crane at the new building near the Bank Street Bridge. This is required in order to construct the upper floors of the residential tower.

Next week the contractor expects to begin work on the foundations for the town houses at the east end of Holmwood.

There will also be a lot of activity at the Horticulture Building (at the corner of O’Connor), as the contractor continues to put up the frame for the new north end of the building, re-points the bricks and finishes roofing work.

Along Bank Street, the contractor will begin laying pavers and other landscaping work around the main entrance.

Next week the City and the National Capital Commission (NCC) will begin work to install the new traffic signals at Queen Elizabeth Drive and Fifth Avenue.

During the construction there will be varying degrees of disruption for pathway users and motorists along the Queen Elizabeth Drive.

Extensive signage will be in place to inform pedestrians and cyclists of alternative routes through the construction area. The work should be completed in mid-July.
