The 2026 season

As of October 15 2026.

Ottawa set a CFL record for losses to start a season when it reached 15, 3DownNation reported on October 2 2026. The earlier mark was 14, by the 1994 Shreveport Pirates. Ottawa lost its 16th game at B.C. on October 9 2026.

Two games remain, 3DownNation reported on October 14 2026: the home game against Toronto on October 16 2026 and one more. The regular season runs from June 4 to October 24 2026, The Canadian Press reported on December 9 2025.

The playoffs are out of reach for both Ottawa and Hamilton, The Canadian Press reported on October 1 2026. TD Place’s upcoming events page lists no REDBLACKS game after October 16 2026.

The team’s release of December 9 2025, carried by OurSports Central, lists the 2026 regular-season home games. It states no total. Nine games are on the list, by this site’s count.

Game day at TD Place

Gates 1, 2 and 3 are open for REDBLACKS games.

TD Place’s stadium guide sets these rules:

  • Bags must be soft-sided and fit under the seat.
  • Every point of sale takes debit and credit cards, and none takes cash.
  • Outside food and drink are not allowed. Empty refillable bottles and unopened water bottles are.
  • The purchase limit is two alcoholic beverages. Last call at REDBLACKS games is at the start of the fourth quarter.
  • Umbrellas may be carried but not opened in the stadium.
  • Re-entry varies by event.

Tickets

The box office is at Gate 3. Its address is 1015 Bank Street and its phone number is 613-232-6767. Extension 8221 appears in the header of TD Place’s stadium guide.

The REDBLACKS have two membership tiers for the 2026 season, “Forever RNation+” and “Forever RNation”. The team’s season-seat page shows a price only after a section is picked on its seat map.

Digital tickets are managed in the TD Place + Lansdowne app.

Getting to a game

Transit. A game ticket is a free transit fare from 3 hours before kickoff until 3 hours after the game. OC Transpo, TD Place’s stadium guide and the REDBLACKS’ transportation page give the same window. The REDBLACKS’ page, which refers to the 2026 season, names OC Transpo, the LRT, STO and Para Transpo for REDBLACKS game days. TD Place’s stadium guide names OC Transpo and STO routes and says STO routes are not free for some TD Place events.

At an LRT fare gate, the REDBLACKS say to press the call button, and an operator verifies the ticket and opens the gate.

OC Transpo’s Routes 6 and 7 serve Lansdowne every day, and its 450-series routes run for major stadium events only. The REDBLACKS say that on game days the 450-series buses run from 2 hours before kickoff until 90 minutes after the game. The REDBLACKS’ page lists these routes:

  • 450 Rideau.
  • 451 Blair. It stops at St. Laurent Shopping Centre, where the page says to park in Lot 5 on the northwest side. Pick-up and drop-off are on the south side of the mall.
  • 452 South Keys. The page says to take Line 2 to Carleton University, then the free shuttle.
  • 454 Kanata (Terry Fox).
  • 455 Orléans (Trim).
  • 456 Barrhaven (Barrhaven Centre).

Free shuttles. The REDBLACKS’ page lists shuttles from two pick-up points, free with a game ticket. They run from 2 hours before kickoff until 90 minutes after the final whistle.

  • Canada Post headquarters, 2701 Riverside Drive. Drop-off and post-game pick-up at TD Place are at the Shuttle Loop near Queen Elizabeth Drive. The page reports no changes for the 2026 season.
  • Carleton University, 1125 Colonel By Drive. Parking in Lots P7, P5 or P18 is $8, using the QR code from on-site staff. Drop-off and post-game pick-up at TD Place are on Marché Way between Gates 2 and 3.

The page gives Lansdowne 2.0 construction as the reason for both drop-off points.

Parking. Sources differ on the underground garage on REDBLACKS game days. TD Place’s parking page says underground parking is not available when there is a REDBLACKS game. It gives a closing time of 3 hours before each game and says prepaid parking is not offered for REDBLACKS games. The REDBLACKS’ transportation page says the garage is reserved for prepaid parking passes only on REDBLACKS game days, starting 5 hours before kickoff.

The REDBLACKS describe street parking as extremely limited on game days.

Rideshare. The REDBLACKS’ page says rideshare pick-ups are not available immediately outside the venue on game days, and it tells riders to move a few blocks away.

Queen Elizabeth Drive. The REDBLACKS’ page says the road has regular seasonal closures and is accessible on game days from 4 hours before kickoff.

Walking. The REDBLACKS’ page gives site access on game days by Bank Street (west), Queen Elizabeth Drive (east) or Holmwood Avenue (north). It says there is no access from the south or the Great Lawn area, because of Lansdowne 2.0 construction.

Cycling. Secure bike parking is free on site during REDBLACKS games. The REDBLACKS’ page gives a free bike valet at the west end of Aberdeen Plaza, near Milestones. It opens 90 minutes before the game and closes 45 minutes after the final whistle.

Accessibility

TD Place’s accessibility page gives these details:

  • The accessible drop-off for Para Transpo and taxis is at the corner of Exhibition Way and Paul Askin Way.
  • Accessible seating is booked at 613-232-6767, extension 1, or at the box office.
  • Access2 card holders get one free support-person ticket for REDBLACKS games, subject to availability.
  • Sensory kits are free at Guest Experience booths.

TD Place and the REDBLACKS each publish accessibility details for game days. Both are given here.

The free ride with an event ticket includes the Para Transpo fare. The REDBLACKS’ page says the standard Para Transpo booking process still applies.

Lansdowne 2.0 and the REDBLACKS

The City of Ottawa’s Lansdowne 2.0 project includes new north side stands for the stadium. The City’s project page lists that work as Stage 2, from the fourth quarter of 2028 to the fourth quarter of 2030. The new stands hold 12,400 and include more than 300 accessible seats, according to the City’s Q&A. They have no roof, and an upper-deck overhang gives some cover.

All major events, CFL games included, continue during construction, the City says. Its page does not say where REDBLACKS games are played while the north side stands are down.

Sources differ on when the existing stands come down. The City’s schedule starts Stage 2 in the fourth quarter of 2028. 3DownNation reported on November 7 2025 that demolition follows the 2027 season; the same report also says the north side stand comes down in 2028. On August 26 2026 it reported that the Event Centre opens in fall 2028, the Ottawa 67’s move in for the 2028-29 season, and the stands are demolished after that season. On August 18 2026 it reported that the grandstand is demolished and rebuilt for 2031.

Capacity for REDBLACKS games is reportedly about 14,000 for the 2028 and 2029 seasons, according to 3DownNation’s November 7 2025 report. That report and 3DownNation’s report of December 29 2024 say 14,000 is 10,000 less than the building currently holds. Sources differ on the current capacity. 3DownNation’s reports of August 18 and August 26 2026 give it as close to 25,000. TD Place’s OSEG page says the stadium seats 24,000 for stadium sports and concerts. The August 26 2026 3DownNation report gives about 24,000 after the rebuild.

How to watch and listen

TSN carries the full 2026 season through the Grey Cup. The CFL’s broadcast page also names RDS and RDS2, and CTV is in its list of networks. CTV airs select games.

Games stream on TSN.ca and the TSN app, TSN reported on September 29 2026. Viewers in the United States and other countries can use CFL+, a free online platform, and CBS Sports Network also carries games in the United States.

On radio, the stations are TSN 1200 in Ottawa and 104.7 FM in Gatineau, and SiriusXM carries CFL games across North America.

Team history

The CFL conditionally awarded an Ottawa franchise to OSEG in March 2008. OSEG was founded that year to bring CFL football back to Ottawa. It also owns the Ottawa 67’s and manages the TD Place stadium and arena.

The REDBLACKS’ first season was 2014. They played their first game on July 3 2014 at Winnipeg and their first home game on July 18 2014 against the Toronto Argonauts at TD Place. Ottawa won that home game 18 to 17.

Two earlier Ottawa teams played in the CFL: the Ottawa Rough Riders, who adopted the name in 1898 and ceased operations in 1996, and the Ottawa Renegades, for whom the team’s history page gives 2002 and says they folded after four seasons.

The 2018 Grey Cup was Ottawa’s third in four years, The Canadian Press reported on November 25 2018. Its reports, carried by TSN, give these results:

  • 2015: Edmonton 26, Ottawa 20, on November 29 2015 at Investors Group Field in Winnipeg (The Canadian Press, on TSN, November 29 2015).
  • 2016: Ottawa won 39 to 33 in overtime over Calgary (The Canadian Press, on TSN, November 25 2018).
  • 2018: Calgary 27, Ottawa 16, on November 25 2018 at Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton (The Canadian Press, on TSN, November 25 2018).

TD Place’s OSEG page lists the Grey Cup and the Grey Cup Festival among the events OSEG has hosted. It gives no year.
