REDBLACKS Select Kevin Glenn as Quarterback in CFL Expansion Draft

Ottawa REDBLACKS selected Kevin Glenn as their quarterback by the CFL’s newest team in the first round of the 2013 Expansion Draft.

Ottawa GM Marcel Desjardins said he took the top two quarterbacks available.

Glenn heads to Ottawa after another impressive campaign in 2013, one that saw him help lead the Stampeders to 14 wins and a berth in the Western Final.

In 15 games last year, Glenn completed 67 per cent of his passes for 2,710 yards, 18 touchdowns and seven interceptions.

The 34 year-old returns to the CFL’s East Division for the first time since 2011 before he was traded to Calgary in exchange for fellow quarterback Henry Burris.

The 2014 season will be the 14th of Glenn’s career. In stints with Saskatchewan, Winnipeg, Hamilton and Calgary, Glenn has thrown for an impressive 39,418 yards, 222 touchdowns and 151 interceptions. His career QB rating is 90.3.

Thomas DeMarco is exchanging his orange and black for some red and black.

Seeing a lot of action due to an injury to Travis Lulay in 2013, DeMarco displayed glimpses of a quarterback who can one day manage an offence on a full-time basis.

In five starts, DeMarco completed 55 per cent of his passes for 1,112 yards and eight touchdowns.

Wallace Miles hauled in 16 passes for 193 yards and 1 major in two seasons with Winnipeg albiet in limited action.
