Lansdowne Park Construction Update – Week May 27, 2013

Construction activities will continue next week at Lansdowne as additional columns and walls to support the underground parking garage are built at the corner of Bank and Holmwood and for the access ramp from Queen Elizabeth Drive. Pouring of concrete to build the roof of the garage in front of the Civic Centre will also continue. Crews will also be working on the installation of the new roof on the north stands.

The base and foundation for an additional tower crane between the west side of the Civic Centre and Bank Street is planned to be built next week. The crane will likely be erected late in the week.

Work begins on the second building in Lansdowne’s urban village

On Tuesday, City of Ottawa crews started to construct the steel frame of a second building in the urban village (Building B). As Building B requires the use of the same tower crane as Building C (construction of which began a couple of weeks ago and is ongoing), it is expected that work on the new building will continue until as late as 8 p.m. on weekdays over the next few weeks.
