Everyone is invited to check out the Ottawa’s CFL team official introduction June 8 at 2 p.m., at the Ernst and Young Centre.

The OSEG and Mr. Hunt wouldn’t confirm that the team will be called the RedBlacks. A series of logos were posted on the website of a former employee of Downstream, the branding company in charge of creating logos for Ottawa’s CFL and NASL teams.

Several Rough Riders legends and alumni are expected to be on hand, along with strong representation from NCAFA, the local minor football organization.

The Ottawa Football franchise picked a total of 4 NCAA underclassmen with the last pick in the first 4 rounds of this year’s CFL draft (9th, 18th, 27th and 36th overall).

Next year, as a full-fledged member of the league, the team will have the first pick in all rounds.

May 6, 2013 – Ottawa Selects Connor Williams

Ottawa’s CFL franchise selected Ottawa’s own Connor Williams, a defensive lineman with the Utah State Aggies, with its 2nd round pick in the 2013 CFL Draft.  Williams who stands 6′ 3″ and weighs-in at 278 pounds, led his team with 6 quarterback sacks last season and he recorded 32 tackles.

May 6, 2013 – Ottawa Selects Nolan MacMillan

Ottawa’s CFL franchise selected Toronto Ontario’s Nolan MacMillan, an offensive lineman from the University of Iowa Hawkeyes, with its 1st round pick in the 2013 CFL Draft. MacMillan, who stands 6′ 6″ and weighs-in at 290 pounds.
