REDBLACKS First Game & TD Place at Lansdowne Opening Weekend Activities

On Friday, July 18, TD Place will open to the public for the first time. Pre-game entertainment and activities are expected to begin at 4p.m. and the REDBLACKS game will start at 7p.m. Activities at Lansdowne are scheduled to conclude at about 11p.m.

Beginning around 4p.m. there will be enhanced transit service and police presence along Bank Street to facilitate public access to the stadium. Ottawa Sports and Entertainment Group (OSEG) will also be operating shuttle buses along Queen Elizabeth Driveway and designated shuttle routes.

There will be special event parking restrictions in place on some roadways to ensure transit operations and emergency access. Signage clearly indicating any changes to parking regulations will be put up prior to the event and will be removed shortly after.

The City will be monitoring traffic operations from its Traffic Control Centre. By-law Services will also have additional staff in the area during the event for enforcement requirements.

On Sunday, July 20, the first Ottawa Fury FC game will be held at TD Place at 3p.m. While attendance is expected to be less than Friday’s football game, the game is expected to be well attended. There will be additional transit on Bank Street and shuttles will also be running, though the number and frequency will be reduced from Friday night. The City will monitor traffic operations and By-law will respond to enforcement concerns.

Should you have questions before or during the event, OSEG has set up an information phone line for fans at 1-844-FAN-INFO (326-4696), or you can also email info@tdplace.ca. A special Guest Assist Texting Service is also available at 1-613-777-6759.

The City has also set up a feedback form on ottawa.ca where residents can provide their comments and observations on the first events at Lansdowne.
